Privacy Policy
This explains what personal information INVO collects, why, and what happens to it. We collect only what's needed to make and deliver your invitation.
What we collect
When you place an order:
- Your name and email address, and your mobile number if you choose to give it
- The names, dates, venue and other details that go in the invitation
- Photos you upload, if any. We re-save every photo, which removes hidden data such as the location where it was taken
- Your package choice and preferences (language, design and styling)
- If you choose to tell us: your ceremony (for example Hindu, Muslim, Sikh or Christian) and a religious symbol for the invitation
Your ceremony and symbol are optional. They reveal your religion, which is sensitive information, so we collect them only when you choose them, and use them only to set the wording, ceremonies and designs of your film. They are never used for advertising or profiling.
When you pay: Dodo Payments collects your payment details. We never see your card number, UPI PIN or bank details, only confirmation that you've paid.
When you contact us: your name, email and message.
When you visit the site: which advertisement or link brought you here, only if you accept advertising cookies. See our Cookie Policy.
Why we use it
- To make your invitation: that's what the names, dates, photos and preferences are for
- To deliver it and keep you updated, by email, at the address you gave
- To answer your questions and handle revisions and complaints
- To understand which advertisements work, so we can spend less on ads
- To meet legal obligations, such as tax records
We do not sell your information, and we do not use your photos or personal details for anything other than your order.
Who else sees it
Only the services we need to run the business:
- Dodo Payments: payment processing and tax collection (they have their own privacy policy)
- Vercel: hosts the website and makes your films
- Supabase: our database, which stores orders and photos
- Resend: sends our emails about your order
- Anthropic: an AI assistant drafts replies to messages you send us. A person reads and approves every reply before it's sent, and Anthropic doesn't use your message to train its models
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram), only if you accepted advertising cookies: a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email and phone number and the fact that you bought, so we can tell which ads work. Meta never receives your photos, your invitation details or your ceremony
We may share information if the law requires it.
Where it's stored
INVO is operated from Australia. Your information is stored with cloud providers that may keep it in India, Singapore, Australia or other countries with appropriate safeguards. By ordering, you agree to this transfer.
How long we keep it
- Photos: deleted 90 days after your invitation is delivered
- Finished films: kept 365 days after delivery so you can download them again, then deleted
- Order details and messages: kept for as long as needed for tax and accounting records (typically 7 years), then deleted
- Analytics data: kept in aggregated form only
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and Australia's Privacy Act 1988, you can:
- Ask what information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct it
- Ask us to delete it. We'll do so unless we're legally required to keep it (for example, tax records)
- Withdraw consent for anything that isn't needed to complete your order
- Complain to us, and if you're not satisfied, to the Data Protection Board of India or the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner
To ask us to delete your information, use the contact page and choose "Delete my data" (there's a link on your order page too), or email hello@example.com. For anything else, use the contact page or the same address. Our grievance officer is [Name]. We respond within 30 days.
Cookies and analytics
We ask before using any cookie that isn't needed to run the site, and you can change your choice any time from "Cookie settings" at the foot of every page. The full list is in our Cookie Policy.
Children
You must be 18 or over to place an order, and we ask you to confirm it before you pay. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Photos of children may appear in an invitation only with the consent of their parent or guardian. When you add a photo, we ask you to confirm that everyone in it has agreed to appear, and that you are, or have the permission of, the parent or guardian of any child in it. Photos are deleted 90 days after delivery.
Changes
We'll post any changes here. Effective date: 1 October 2026.
